The idol of Kazami Academy, Kotori is beautiful, talented, and kind to everyone she meets. She fell in love with the pure-hearted but distant Jun’ichi, and determined to confess her feelings to him at the school beauty pageant, but... In this story, Kotori faces trials and tribulations of her own.
Nemu is Jun’ichi’s adopted sister. She is often mean if not outright abusive to him, and while she keeps the house in order, she is barred from the kitchen as her cooking is lethal. Nemu is at the heart of the game’s story.
Sakura is Jun’ichi’s cousin and a childhood friend to him and Nemu. She calls Jun’ichi ’Onii-chan’, and looks up to him as a brother.
Koyomi is Kotori’s older sister and a former teacher at Kazami Academy. She has a bold personality, but is fiercely loyal to and protective of her little sister.
Suginami is Jun’ichi’s classmate, and the two are friends of a love/hate variety. Suginami has an eccentric personality that is difficult to comprehend, but his skills at gathering information and pulling off great feats are amazing.
Kudou is one of Jun’ichi’s best friends and classmates, and also close to Kotori and Suginami. However, Kudou seems to be hiding something from the group...

This side story is overly melodramatic for my tastes, to the point of making it difficult to finish this game. I feel that it's too serious to the point of its own detriment. It should also be mentioned that this is an all-ages version for anyone who doesn't like that sort of thing.
No secret characters, no hidden routes and the choices you make during the second half of this game is only to unlock cameos of other characters in the series and pointless Extra Stories. So if you're the type who looks for Easter eggs, you'd be disappointed as well. Not to mention that the cameos are characters from discs which are never released in English.
If you really like Kotori, give it a shot, but I can't recommend it to anyone else. Since it's a non-canon alternate storyline, you're not missing much.
